A 35-year-old woman has been arrested after gunfire struck the Beverly Hills home of pop star Rihanna, Los Angeles police confirmed.
Authorities say Ivanna Lisette Ortiz is facing suspicion of attempted murder, with her bail set at $10.2 million.
Police responded at around 13:15 local time (21:15 GMT) on Sunday following reports that shots were fired at the singer’s mansion. Investigators say the suspect was armed with an AR-15-style rifle and allegedly fired from a vehicle towards the property.
Rihanna, who was inside the home at the time, was unharmed, a law enforcement source told the Los Angeles Times. A motive for the attack has not been revealed.
Officers found assault rifle casings at the scene, according to a police official who spoke to CBS. The suspect’s white Tesla was later recovered approximately eight miles away at the Sherman Oaks Galleria shopping centre, where Ortiz was arrested.
Authorities say the woman is from Orlando, Florida.
Rihanna, whose full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, recently welcomed her third child, a daughter named Rocki, with partner A$AP Rocky in September. The couple also have two sons, Riot and RZA, and announced the pregnancy last year during the Met Gala.
This is not the first high-profile incident involving the couple in 2025. In February, A$AP Rocky was acquitted of charges related to firing a gun at a former friend, a trial where Rihanna brought her two sons to court.
The Barbados-born singer gained fame in the early 2000s with hits like Pon de Replay and Umbrella. She has won nine Grammy Awards and recently marked 20 years since the release of her debut album.
Over the years, Rihanna has built a business empire, including the cosmetics line Fenty Beauty and a lingerie brand, with Forbes estimating her net worth at over one billion dollars.
